Things to do at Mirage Las Vegas

the-volcanoThere are two major attractions Mirage Las Vegas is known for: the volcano and Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat. But there are numerous other things to do here, including: visiting the Aquarium, exploring the Atrium, spend a relaxing time at the Spa or the Salon and, of course, enjoy some time shopping.

The Volcano

The first Volcano at Mirage was unveiled in 1989, forever chancing the Strip’s landscape. In December 2008, Mirage set a new standard for attractions with its new Volcano. Never before seen fire effects together with a new soundtrack create a unique atmosphere.

The Secret Garden

Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat allows visitors to come face to face with white lions, white tigers, panthers, leopards, and dolphins. It is open daily; weekdays from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and over the weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. A special one-hour VIP guided tour is available. General admission is $15 for adults and $10 for kids (age 4-12). Kids under 3 can visit the habitat for free when accompanied by an adult.

Aquarium

aquariumThe 20,000 gallon of saltwater tank is located behind the front desk and is one of the most popular attractions at the Mirage. It is inhabited by sharks, stingrays, angelfish, puffer fish, tangs and other exotic sea creatures. It accommodates more than 1,000 coral reef animals representing 60 species from all over the world.

Atrium

Inside the front entrance you’ll find a very interesting rainforest housed under a 100-foot-high dome. It is home to palm trees, waterfalls and a rich tropical flora including bird of paradise trees, orchids and bromeliads. Over 100 different types of plants can be found in the Atrium.

Spa & Salon

The Spa caters for all of your desires, whether you look for relaxation or pampering your body. Separate men’s and women’s wet areas comprise saunas, whirlpools and steam rooms. There is also a fitness room equipped with cardio and strength training equipment ($15 all day fee).

The spa (and fitness room) is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The spa offers facial treatments, facial enhancements, body treatments, body wraps and massages. Discount spa packages are available for prices starting at $99.

The Salon offers the latest in hair trends and treatments as well as manicures, pedicures, hair extensions and personalized makeup services. Men can enjoy the Barber Shop.

The Salon is open Sunday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Discount salon packages are available for prices starting at $74 (mani and pedi).

Shopping

Whether you want to buy jewelry, watches, clothes or you are looking for a gift, the boutiques at the Mirage have everything you want.

There are two shops offering designer clothes. Both are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and you can choose vendors such as Affliction, Ed Hardy, English Laundry, Fender, True Religion, 7 for all Mankind, and Hale Bob. Footwear from celebrated designers is also available.

Sugar Factory, home of the “Signature Series Couture Lollipop”, is a sweet-lovers’ dream where you can find chocolates and other sweet treats. And you can even create your own lollipop, by choosing from the variety of flavors offered.

If you loved the shows at the Mirage, then you must purchase Terry Fator merchandise (t-shirts, hats) or The Beatles and Cirque du Soleil merchandise. Or you can check out the Dolphins’ Store (located inside the Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat) where you can get toys, plush animals as well as fashion logo items for adults.

Impulse, located near the guest elevators, offers a variety of possible gifts for women (accessories, jewelry, perfumes) as well as Mirage logo merchandise. Flower arrangements and gift baskets can also be purchased here.
