If you have to ask “who?” then you can consider this Vegas legend uber-retro. Wayne Newton was 15 when he started performing at the Fremont Hotel in 1959 with his brother Jerry. He got a solo gig at Flamingo Las Vegas a few years after that and stayed true to Las Vegas when all others were packing up and shipping out.

Wayne Newton has had a number of shows in Las Vegas, and he’s a frequent face on the red carpet at Sin City events and around town. When people say “Las Vegas icon,” Wayne Newton is the kind of person they’re talking about.
