Celebrate 4th of July 2008 in Las Vegas

Nothing says party like the Fourth of July and nobody does a party like Vegas. So if you’re in town this upcoming weekend, here’s a quick rundown of all the festivities planned:

July 2:

  • Cashman Field – Enjoy a game with the Las Vegas 51s vs. the Salt Lake Bees, with fireworks immediately following the ninth inning ending. Tickets are $13 for general admission to the game, or free just to see the fireworks from the field after the game. For more information, call 702.798.7825.

July 3:

  • “American Pie 4th of July” Weekend – The Fremont Street Experience downtown is hosting this free blowout extravaganza which features the premiere of Don McLean’s “American Pie” Viva Vision light and sound show. Live music from the Tony Marques Band and NiteKings on the 1st Street Stage and Keel 2 and Wonderboogie on the 3rd Street Stage round out the nightly entertainment.

  • Caesars Palace – Free fireworks display kicks off on the Strip at 9:30pm.
  • Downtown Henderson Fourth of July – Henderson Events Plaza hosts the annual fireworks show from 6-9pm. The event is free to the public and also features entertainment by the Henderson Civic Orchestra. For more information, you can call 702.267.2171.
  • Hills Park, Summerlin – July 4th Spectacular featuring the Las Vegas Philharmonic with soloist Brent Barrett, and fireworks. Tickets are $25 general admission in advance or $30 at the gate for adults. Children ages 6-12 are $20 advance/$25 day of and under 5 are free. There is also a $100 ticket option that includes reserved pavillion seating and complimentary food. For more information, please call 702.895.2787.
  • Las Vegas Hilton – Hosting free fireworks display just off-Strip at 9:30pm.
  • Lake Las Vegas – 70’s rock group America takes to the floating stage as fireworks explode over the lake. Tickets are $100 (VIP reserved on the floating stage area), $75 (reserved) and $40 (general admission), and are available at the Montelago Village or via Ticketmaster.
  • McFadden’s at The Rio – Fourth of July party featuring $5 shot specials, along with $3 domestic draft and bottled beer specials. There will also be a sexy hot dog eating contest with a free bar tab as prize. Cover is $20
  • Polly Esthers at the Stratosphere – Playboy centerfold Michelle Manhart and adult film star Brianna Banks host the 4th of July Bash. The event also includes special performances by the American Storm male revue and the cast of BITE, along with a fashion show by Deja Vu Love Boutique. Tickets are available at the door and are $50, which includes top shelf open bar all night. Get $10 off if you are dressed in any kind of military-style garb.
  • Rock the Block with El Cortez – Head downtown to Fremont East and rock out the night with a free concert featuring headliners Taproot and Everlast. The show starts at 6pm and ties into the rest of the downtown festivities. For more information, call 702.385.5200.
  • 60th Annual Boulder City Damboree – The event starts early in Boulder City with a 7am pancake breakfast and the annual parade, which starts at 9am.  The carnival opens at 10am and the evening ends with 9pm fireworks at Veteran’s Memorial Park. For more information, visit bcnv.org/damboree.
  • Station Casinos’ “Lights Over Vegas” – Grucci’s of New York is choreographing a fireworks show featuring six of the Station Casinos that circle Vegas. Pick a spot at Green Valley Ranch, Red Rock Resort, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station, Texas Station and Fiesta Rancho and watch the show for free. The music, featuring a variety of American artists, will also be simulcast live on Beasley Broadcasting’s four radio stations including KKLZ 96.3 FM Classic Hits, KCYE 104.3 FM Coyote Country, KFRH 102.7 Fresh FM and KDWN 720 AM talk radio.
  • TAO Beach at the Venetian – Hot DJ Samantha Ronson spins at this patriotic-themed pool party. Cover is $30.

July 5
