1966: Hail Caesar!

Caesars Palace opened on August 5 in 1966. It opened with 700 rooms and a grand opening that set the bar for all other parties. There were two tons of filet mignon, 50,000 glass of champers, and more caviar than you can imagine. Even though the Aladdin had also opened the same year, the attention was on Joe Sarno’s Caesars. Everyone wanted to know what happened to the apostrophe in the name. He had a very simple answer:”We wanted to create the feeling that everybody in the hotel was a Caesar.”
