Frontier Hotel-Casino To Close in July

According to a recent podcast by Vegas-based website thestrippodcast.com, the Frontier/New Frontier Hotel-Casino will close for good sometime next month. The exact July date wasn’t named in the podcast, but upon some investigation, my sources tell me it will be July 15.

The property was sold last month for $1.2 billion to New York developers Elad Group, who plan to construct a multi-billion Vegas version of New York’s famed Plaza Hotel, though rights to that name have yet to be sorted out with the Plaza in downtown Vegas.

The implosion is set to take place sometime in September, according to the same podcast. The new resort is set to open sometime in 2011.
