Israeli Company Joins Group on New Vegas Land Deal

According to Reuters, Israeli company Africa Israel Investments is the newest partner in a group attempting to buy a plot of land in Las Vegas for $625 million.

The company is investing enough to give it a 49 percent share in the project, which will encompass several hotels, commercial spaces, a conference room and a casino on a 60-acre plot of land bordering the Hard Rock Hotel. No word on whether this will be another mega-project along the lines of City Center and Echelon, but it sure sounds like it.

The article also doesn’t mention the plot of land specifically, but the only one I can think of is the now empty land parcel that was to hold the over-before-it-started Las Ramblas project and the recently cancelled W Hotel & Condo project.

Anybody else heard anything about it?
