The Sopranos Shooting at Caesars Palace

The Sopranos Shooting at Caesars PalaceIf Caesars Palace has been looking like a New Jersey transplant this week, it could be because the cast of the HBO series “The Sopranos” is in town filming for its final season.

Security has been extra tight to prevent any plot leaks, but camera crews have been showing up to film scenes with the cast all over the resort, including the casino, the hotel entrance and at Restaurant Guy Savoy.

Though rumors are circulating that mob boss Tony Soprano would get whacked in the finale, no one is saying a word. However, Norm Clarke of the Review-Journal reported in his column this week that James Gandolfini, who plays Tony, was spotted on set Wednesday wearing makeup that suggested the character had taken a brutal beating.

He also reports on Thursday, Gandolfini was seen at Restaurant Guy Savoy filming a scene and later in the day, after a pool scene, Gandolfini and other cast and crew members were tossed into the water.

The show later went off-Strip for a sunset scene involving Tony at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

Word is the on location shots will appear in the series finale of the long-running mob family drama, which appear later this spring.
